From autumn 2006 onwards new and existing students at Eira have had the opportunity to study online using the facilities of Eira Online and the WSOY OPIT virtual learning environment. This means that Eira High School is now a viable option for students living outside the Greater Helsinki area, whether in Finland or abroad.
Eira Online Courses prepare students for the Finnish High School Leaving Certificate, the Finnish Matriculation Exam and Cambridge International Advanced Level certificates. You can find more details under the Eira Online curriculum page.
Online study can be used as a useful supplement to attending classes at Eira or completed as a distance learning programme. Students considering the distance learning option should allow at least two years to complete the programme if they study fulltime.
For publicly funded full-time students there is a registration fee of 10€, for part time students the fee is 100€.
For students living in the Greater Helsinki area:
Enrolment for Online courses works the same way as for the High School in general. More details on how to apply can be found under the High School enrolment page.
For students living outside the Greater Helsinki area:
If you live outside the Helsinki area and attending the entrance test and induction day will be difficult please contact high.school@eiraedu.com to make alternative arrangements. We operate a policy of inclusive education which means that we try our best to meet the requirements of all students with genuine education needs at a High School level.
